Resource per share = attributable resource units ÷ shares. Per-share change = (new units per share ÷ old units per share − 1) × 100.
Worked example
Fictional resource company. Both resource snapshots use the same ownership and resource category; resource units and shares are in millions.
- Before, per share
- 1 units/share
- After, per share
- 0.933333 units/share
- Change per share
- -6.67%
The total resource grew 40%, but shares grew 50%. Units per share fell 6.67%. A bigger headline number did not mean more resource for each share.
