Early-access waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, request time and consent to receive early-access and launch invitations. This does not create a member account or subscribe you to unrelated marketing. The site owner can view the list. To withdraw and remove your address, email admin@trendstockers.com. Addresses remain on the list until launch invitations are complete or you request removal. We use a hashed connection identifier and a short-lived counter to limit automated submissions.
Your account and private workspace
You can read the public site without an account. Sign-in uses Google, X or email when available. We store the provider’s account identifier, connection details and a private session cookie. Email codes and sign-in links expire in ten minutes and are stored as hashes. Reader sessions stay active for one year and renew when you return. Signing out, clearing browser cookies or revoking a session ends access; sign out on shared devices. Administrator sessions do not receive this automatic extension. Google, Apple and X passwords are never sent to Trendstockers. We request basic identity access, not permission to post to your accounts.
Your email address, real name, holdings, trading notes and saved stories are not included in public profiles. Profiles are private by default. If you enable your public profile and publish a watchlist, its name, sections, companies and description are public under your handle. Other readers may follow or copy it. Unpublishing or hiding your profile withdraws access on our site, but does not remove copies already saved or shared by others. Public identity uses a handle. Author bylines on The Record are editorial choices, not automatically imported login names.
Optional public profiles and Community wall
The Community wall is an optional, public space. Opening the wall does not publish existing profiles, research, portfolios or drafts. To submit a post, first enable your public profile, choose the text or individual saved research fields, review the exact snapshot and confirm its public audience. A site owner must approve that version before it appears. Profile-only posts and their direct links are also public, even though they stay out of the Community feed. Private account names, email addresses, holdings, balances, saved stories and unselected notebook content are never added automatically.
We store your submitted snapshot, chosen audience, submission time, review status and revision history. An edit immediately hides the old public version and needs a new review. Hiding your profile, a moderation hide or an account suspension hides the associated wall content. Withdrawing a post removes its stored text and author-facing review notes from all revisions; minimal submission identifiers remain to prevent accidental repeat submissions. Copies made outside Trendstockers cannot be recalled.
Reports, their optional details and author-facing review notes are private to the reporter or author and site moderation, as applicable. Moderation stores the action, account or post identifier and time. Blocks hide both accounts’ public profiles, watchlists and posts from each other while signed in; they cannot prevent signed-out viewing. Linking accounts preserves blocks and suspensions and withdraws the transferred account’s wall posts. Account deletion removes its wall posts, reports and blocks. Use Report on a post or contact admin@trendstockers.com about misuse.
Optional email updates
Newsletter signup is optional and separate from an account or early-access waitlist. We store the email address, consent wording version and dates, confirmation and unsubscribe status, and delivery results. Confirm the request in your email before receiving original stories, commentary and occasional Trendstockers updates. The signup checkbox starts unchecked. Joining or linking an account does not subscribe you without your choice. Existing Record-only subscribers keep that scope unless they separately confirm the broader updates subscription. Consent records include the wording shown, request source and confirmation time. Custom messages are saved privately by the owner before sending. Every newsletter has a no-login unsubscribe link. We keep a minimal suppression record to avoid sending again after an opt-out or delivery complaint. No email-open tracking is added by this feature. To request deletion of your subscriber information, contact admin@trendstockers.com.
Private research
Terminal research is private by default and is not included in public watchlists, profiles, newsletters or analytics. Signed-in notebooks, notes, source links, labels, review checkpoints and up to 20 previous investment views are stored with your account. Guest research stays in this browser until you choose to import it. Unsaved editor drafts and account recovery drafts may remain in this tab’s session storage; clear site data on a shared device. You can export research, delete individual notes or delete notebooks. Source links and your comments are saved, not full publisher articles. Research is removed when its account is deleted. Review dates are in-app reminders, not automatic email or price alerts. Optional note dictation starts only when you press its microphone button. Your browser may send audio to its speech provider for recognition under that provider’s terms. Trendstockers does not record or store the audio. Recognized text enters your editable draft and follows the research storage rules above.
Optional Penny help and collection
New accounts can receive a one-time, optional Penny introduction. We store whether it was seen or dismissed so it does not repeat across devices. You can reopen the fictional practice tour in Account; practice actions never earn cards or become research.
Research milestone collection is a separate opt-in. While collecting, we store account-bound, server-confirmed research contributions, versioned fingerprints and qualifying dates in your fixed collection timezone. Private progress records and links are visible only to their owner. They are not sent to analytics as note text, company names or source URLs. Turning Penny off stops new tracking and invalidates unfinished activity processing; previously credited progress and earned cards remain with the account. Account deletion removes them, and linking accounts does not combine their unfinished progress.
You choose whether to create a public card link. Its public image and page include only the card name, exact criterion, illustration and Trendstockers branding, without your identity, earned date or private research. Revoking a link makes its page unavailable; the generic card artwork can remain cached. Existing research-sharing choices are separate.
Additional Penny activity milestones
A separate, unchecked choice enables membership anniversaries, engaged-article milestones, active research time and published-note-link milestones. Main Penny collection must also be on. We use the account’s actual creation date for anniversaries. Other progress starts prospectively after consent. The browser reports bounded foreground activity only after deliberate interaction on full Trendstockers articles or My Work; it pauses on blur, hidden pages and 60 seconds without interaction. We cap credit at 10 minutes per session and 30 minutes per day across activity. We keep owner-keyed article and publication fingerprints, aggregate active time and qualifying dates, never typed text, page titles, raw reading URLs or keystrokes in these activity records. Public-note-link milestones use successful site publication of distinct written, sourced notes, never share-dialog clicks or claimed external social posts. Browser activity is an engagement estimate and cannot prove comprehension. Pausing preserves credited progress and earned cards; deletion removes them. Linked accounts do not combine unfinished activity or transfer this consent.
Optional in-app Penny reminders
Reminders have a separate, unchecked account choice. If you enable them, a safe visit to Terminal can check for a saved source note without writing or a current saved watchlist. The wording is authored and uses only work saved here, without tracking other tabs or activity outside Trendstockers. We store your choice, wording version and consent or withdrawal time, and share an account-bound notification budget with earned cards. Reminders appear at most once a week in Playful or Business mode, never in Quiet or Off. There is no email, away-time schedule or reward for opening one. Account deletion removes the choice; linking another account does not transfer its reminder consent.
Optional Penny emails
Penny email preferences are a separate, optional choice. If you save one, we store the verified destination, selected maximum frequency and tone, exact consent wording and version, and request or withdrawal time with your account. Penny email delivery is currently off; saving this choice does not send a confirmation or start a subscription. Mailbox confirmation will be required before delivery starts. Turning off only Penny emails does not unsubscribe you from other newsletters or remove research or earned cards. These email preferences do not include private research text, holdings or browsing history. They are removed with the account; linking another account does not transfer its email consent.
Inactive account policy
We record the most recent authenticated visit, including visits made while you remain signed in. After 24 months without such a visit, an account may receive a warning. Deletion requires a verified email, a delivered warning and at least 30 further days without a return visit. Signing in and visiting during this period cancels deletion. Private workspace data and published watchlists are removed with the account; copies other readers made are separate. Accounts with no recorded activity before this feature start their clock when tracking begins. Administrator accounts and accounts with undeliverable warnings are excluded from automatic deletion. Email newsletter consent is independent and can be withdrawn using any newsletter’s unsubscribe link.
Services used to operate the site
Hosting and database infrastructure process requests and store your workspace. Google or X process sign-in when you choose them. Resend delivers email codes, subscriber messages and account notices; Cloudflare Turnstile checks email signup requests for automated abuse. Security checks may process your connection address. We store hashes and short-lived counters to limit repeated login attempts.
Reading preferences and analytics
When signed out, your regional edition and publisher choices are saved in your browser. When signed in, your watchlists, topics, publisher preferences and Catch Up progress are stored with your account so they work across devices. Importing existing browser choices is optional and leaves the browser copy intact. A local visit time marks newly added stories; it is not sent to our server. Listening queues and playback progress are also saved on your device. Clearing your browser’s site data removes these preferences. Approximate country hints may suggest a regional edition. Public analytics count page views, article clicks, share actions and feature use. Signed-in owners and editors are excluded. A daily rotating hash of a connection address and browser user agent estimates daily readers; raw addresses and user agents are not stored in analytics. These temporary hashes expire after two days. Aggregate daily totals are retained to compare performance over time. For campaign measurement, a random first-party cookie lasts up to 90 days. We store its hash, first source, sanitized campaign and post tags, session count, first and most recent visit times, and whether key actions occurred. This estimates account creation, watchlist activation, saved-story use and returns within seven days. These records expire after 90 days and contain no account identifiers, company choices or per-page browsing history. Only named campaign tags are collected, not full query strings, watchlist names or search terms. Clearing cookies resets this measurement; different devices count separately. Share actions do not prove a post was published elsewhere. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Signed-out watchlists, sections and interests stay in your browser; company symbols and names are sent to our server when retrieving their news. Clearing site data removes local preferences.
External content
Publisher links open external sites with their own policies. TradingView market displays receive standard connection data when loaded. Portfolio quote requests send ticker symbols through our server to Yahoo Finance; quantities and cost bases are not sent with those requests. CSV imports contain the holdings you approve; we do not request brokerage passwords.
Questions and account removal
You can delete holdings, watchlist entries and saved stories through your workspace. For account removal or privacy questions, contact admin@trendstockers.com. We will verify control of the account before acting on a request.
